Yeah, so Im running the London Marathon again in April. I was going to make it a pretty understated affair, and try and raise a bit of money for Reach Out and Touch Romania. But then we did the 2014 trip and a few things went a bit wrong. Well, a vehicle went a bit wrong. Which happens on most trips at some point, but this time it got pretty costly. So, I might jazz it up a bit and see if we can manage some bigger numbers. That would be amazing, and it would help so much.
How am I going to jazz it up? Well, the easiest way is to make some big claims without knowing if I can back it up. So thats what Ill do. Last time I ran it in 4 hours, 29 minutes and 47 seconds. I was pretty happy with that, all things considered, but I thought I could do it 4 hours and, at halfway, that wasnt out of the question. In fact, until I trod on a discarded water bottle and aggravated my aggravatable knee near Canary Wharf at about 19 miles, Im pretty sure it was still in the question. So this time, Im aiming for sub 4 hours. Im not an idiot, so Id rather not make my sponsorship contingent on that, but Im going to do my very best to make it happen. Its going to be difficult, but I want to try and offer something in return to persuade you to part with your hard-earned. Im not, ahem, a natural runner, but if I was then I probably wouldnt be bellyaching at you like this.
If youd like to know more about the charity and where your money will go, you can visit their lovely website, www.reachoutandtouchromania.org.uk. Or ask me, although you're better off with the website.
Thank you in advance,
Luke.
