My mum died on 26th January 2015, after suffering from Altzheimer's for many years. This inspired me to fundraise for The Alzheimer's Society by training for my first ever marathon. Many of my friends will know what it's like to care for someone with Alzheimer's, watching them slip away into confusion and anxiety, and if you don't know already, I hope for your sake that you never do. I chose to run in memory of my mum, not only because it's a huge personal challenge, but also to highlight the link between cardio vascular exercise and preventing dementia along with many other horrific diseases.
