Hi All
I'm cycling 54 miles ish from London to Brighton and I'm after your money...But for a good reason.....
As you probably know Asthma UK is a charity very close to my heart as it's a disease that runs through my family. My youngest, Marcus, and I both suffer from it but it has particularly affected my oldest son, Tomas.
It's not an exaggeration to say that Tomas' asthma has messed up his schooling and his social life. He's been hospitalised several times including stays in intensive care and HDU. Thankfully he's currently very stable (just in time to enjoy his GCSEs!).
Asthma is not cure-able and is a killer. Check out this recent BBC article for more details. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-27257911. It's a scary disease to have and, in Tomas' and Marcus' cases, for me to watch someone I love suffer from.
Asthma UK are doing brilliant work on developing treatments and who knows, maybe one day even a cure. They also care for those who suffer with advice and support.
Every penny you sponsor me will help them to continue this work. http://www.asthma.org.uk/
I've committed to raising at least 100. If every one I know donated just 1 I would smash this target. Every little helps so please sponsor me....Even if it's only in order to laugh at me in my nappy lined lycra. If it's any help I haven't been on a bike for a year and this going to hurt!
Thanks
Helen
