"Don't worry love, diabetes will be a thing of the past in twenty years!" Well... 30 years have gone by since I heard someone say this to a recently diagnosed childhood friend of mine. The world is a different place when you don't have a pancreas and this life changing disease is not taken seriously enough, due in part, to the level of ignorance and prejudice surrounding the disease. This year Im cycling in the RideLondon-Surrey 100 in support of Diabetes UK and the 2.5 million diabetics in the UK today. Every 1 you give through this website will mean Diabetes UK receives 1.25. Don't forget to tick the GiftAid box if you're a taxpayer. I paid for my entry fee and "Givey" does not take anything from your donation or charge charities any fees, unlike most others. My aim is to raise 5000 to help Diabetes UK deliver the programmes of care, awareness training and research to, one day, deliver on that empty promise I heard 3 decades ago.
