About
Howdy doody, I'm running the Winchester half-marathon this September in aid of The British Association for Music Therapy (BAMT). Since my teens I’ve always had a passion for music both as a fan and more recently as a musician. I truly believe music has the power to connect and inspire us all. I’m always amazed how a simple 3 minute song can bring up a range of emotions such as happiness, sadness and nostalgia as well as acting a tool to help motivate us. Having previously worked in childcare for seven years I was able to see first hand what music can do to help express emotions for those with limited speech and those with special educational needs. As such I have chosen BAMT to raise money to fund music therapy to help those who it may benefit from it. So please donate to help this wonderful cause and help support my mid-life crisis. Tom x "The British Association for Music Therapy (BAMT) is the professional body for music therapy in the UK, providing both practitioners and non-practitioners with information, professional support, and training opportunities. It is also a charity committed to promoting and raising awareness of music therapy, and providing information to the general public. Music therapy is an established psychological clinical intervention, which is delivered by Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered music therapists, to help people of all ages, whose lives have been affected by injury, illness or disability through supporting their psychological, emotional, cognitive, physical, communicative and social needs."
