to preserve in working condition the historic (1758) Middleton Colliery Railway (Leeds) for the benefit of the public.The other seventeen objects are intended to further this, as well as covering specific activities that contribute to running such a railway and to supporting the company as a charitable organisation these other objects include establishing a Railway Museum, exhibiting locomotives and other items in it, and promoting the study of these artefacts, and, of rail transport generally.
