It’s the sequel no-one wants but our local primary school needs. And we need your help. The Sweaty Hairy Ivydale Touring Dads are on their bikes again. Ten middle aged men are heaving themselves across valleys and dragging themselves up mountains and all to convince you to put your hand in your pocket and pledge some much needed money to our local Ivydale school.

It was only last year that the school’s new Inverton building nearly closed. Then the local community rallied round to save it. The danger has by no means passed and the wonderful Ivydale League of Friends (ILOF) does amazing work to raise money for the school.

This year we are fundraising for the Year 6 trip to Wales so that all the kids who want to go, can go. We know that families are struggling and we want to help Ivydale to offer financial assistance to those who need it. That’s why we’re hauling ourselves into our lycra once again and getting back in the saddle to raise money for ILOF.

In keeping with the Welsh theme, we’ll be embarking on the 3 day Lon Las Cymru Wales end to end cycle route. Setting off from Newport the route takes us on the long journey through the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains and Snowdonia National Park ending 200 cramp inducing miles later (4944 metres higher!) at Caernafon. Yes it will be tough, yes it will be sweaty and yes we'll still be hairy but we'll do our very best to get to the end.
