Straight Talking Peer Education employs teenage mothers and young fathers to deliver programmes in schools, presenting the realities of teenage parenthood.
Our work reduces teenage pregnancies and gets teenage parents back into education, employment and training; this creates stable futures for their families
Young people may know how to avoid teenage pregnancy; they also need to know why to avoid early pregnancy.
Peer Education is powerful approach, young people relate to someone like me. Straight Talking harnesses this power, places it in a controlled environment and uses it effectively to make a real difference. Donating to Straight Talking supports at least two generations of UK youth and is a catalyst for social mobility for many families; children are brought up in better environments than their parents.
Teenage parents gain employment and are appreciated for their capabilities and knowledge - often feeling valued for the first time they share their personal stories to help others. Developing experience and workplace skills they positively impact their own futures, change the lives of their children and help the wider community.
Our charity addresses the root causes of teenage pregnancy and addresses them in an effective and informative manner.
