The Killin and District Volunteer car scheme is a service for the rural village of Killin, the surrounding dispersed villages and farming communities. Volunteer drivers use their own cars transporting people and being based in a very rural remote village in Scotland and this service helps people get to hospital and clinic appointments. It aids and maintains a level of independence, social and cultural life, and combats exclusion, improves engagement, wellbeing through improved social contact, and in an area with very poor, inaccessible public transport, miles from the nearest essential services. We aim to become a representative voice, particularly for people of age and those people with debilitating conditions or in financial hardship.
