Story

Speakability is the national charity supporting and empowering people living with Aphasia and their carers. Aphasia is the loss of language following a stroke, head injury, brain tumour or other neurological condition. Founded in 1979 by Diana Law, who herself experienced Aphasia, Speakability offers a free Helpline and Information Service, publications, communication tools and training resources. Speakability also supports a growing national network of Aphasia Self-Help Groups.
