I will be reaching a big milestone in June, the big seven zero. With this in mind I decided I needed a challenge so I’m going to join my daughter Jenny and her mate Sonia in tackling the Trekfest 50km walk across the Brecon Beacons for charity on 18th September 2021. Sonia thought it would be a good idea to tackle the 50km course rather than the 25km option! I could make the 25km with pretty much certainty but 50km will be a hard task for this oldie. We will be climbing a number of large hills including Pen Y Fan, 886m above sea level. My golf club (Addington Court vets) supports a local charity each year chosen by the Captain. The Captain’s charity chosen for this year is definitely a worthy cause, Rutherford School in South Croydon which provides outstanding care for students with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
