About us Sightsavers works to combat blindness in developing countries, restoring sight through specialist treatment and eye care. We also support people who are irreversibly blind by providing education, counselling and training. We help the people who need it most - those living in poverty in some of the world's poorest countries. How we help Sightsavers believes that no one should be blind from avoidable causes, and that people whose sight cant be saved should live with dignity and independence. Did you know? There are 39 million blind people in the world 80% of blindness can be prevented or cured Around 90% of visually impaired people live in the worlds poorest countries So the problems we are trying to tackle are pretty enormous.
