Historia

Since 1845 SCOTWAYS has been protecting public rights of access to land in Scotland by investigating rights of way, providing expert advice to all, signposting paths and occasionally taking court action. We maintain a register of rights of way, a database of heritage paths and publish leaflets and books. Despite changes to the laws to improve matters, there are still numerous challenges to public access to the countryside and to tackle them we rely on member support and voluntary donations.
