Be a Hero - Help Save Pagham Village from the Sea
The Pagham community has to raise up to £400,000 by September 2016 to enable construction work to start, improving the resilience of this beautiful SSSI beach and better protecting the people of Pagham and nature for the future.
The Pagham Flood Defence Trust was set up to collect and safeguard funds raised by the community towards this project to cut a shingle spit whose rapid growth has caused dramatic tidal scouring of Pagham Beach.
The beach is effectively Pagham's sea wall, protecting the homes and businesses from being lost to the sea. The work must be carried out in September/October this year before the winter storms. In October 2014 homes came within 4m of falling into the sea.
With your donation we can transform people's lives in this historic coastal village. We thank you for any help you can give.
More details of this project can be found at www.savepaghambeach.com.
Should the project not go ahead or receive full public funded, all donated funds will be channelled into other flood defence projects in Pagham.
