On Sunday 22 March I will be running the Warwick Half Marathon. Since getting into this running malarkey last summer, I have done a few shorter races but this will be the first time I have ever ran 13.1 miles. I have set myself ambitious target of getting round in 2 hours, fingers crossed!
Wasn't sure about asking for donations for this run, but figured as the last time I asked for sponsorship I was not much older that the age I am in this photo and doing a sponsored swim (at best 50 meters!) I thought it was worth doing.
My chosen charity is one that is very close to my heart; the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). When my mum was losing her sight they provided her with lots of help and support. Be it something as simple as sending her books on tape (yes tape, it was the 90s), it really made a difference to her quality of life.
RNIB's work also includes:
- campaigning on a range of issues from preventing sight loss through to better transport services for blind and partially sighted people
- supporting others through a range of products and services
- offering training, education and learning
- employment and education services
- promoting accessible services
Thanks in advance to anyone who sponsors me, donations big or small are greatly appreciated, every penny counts.
