Friday 10th April is my lockdown birthday. Lockdown has its drawbacks but I'm well and well-provided for and on my birthday I'm grateful for every year of life - all 62 of them! The impact on others is much tougher in this and other countries. If you'd like to wish me well for my birthday would you join me in helping NewDayUtd provide food parcels for residents in Tambo Village, Gugulethu - a large 'informal settlement' or 'township' in Cape Town, South Africa. Jan and I support NewDayUtd there as they normally deliver an impressive range of programmes bringing new hopes and aspirations. However, the COVID 19 pandemic has closed the programmes, leaving people already on the edge locked down in poverty and insecurity.
