Away from LondonMidland I am a volunteer level crossing keeper on the Wensleydale Railway in North Yorkshire. A group of volunteers has done a fantastic job in restoring Scruton station - last used 50 years ago! I would like to raise the money to replace the level crossing gates there with ones to match their efforts... To this end, I am spending Saturday 8th March covering the complete 'under the wires' LondonMidland network, starting on the 0608 to Wolverhampton from Birmingham and finishing on the 21.57 from Redditch back to Birmingham. Over 530 miles with 14 changes of trains.
