I wanted to do something in memory of my Mum who we lost to cancer in September 2014. This March was our first Mother's Day without her and it got me thinking about something I need to do and that is eat healthier.
I've spent years not eating properly and Mum always used to have a go at me about it!! Someone said to me the other day "You should look after yourself the way you look after your team!" Well now I can get healthy myself whilst raising some funds for her cancer charity, Macmillan Cancer Support. I know she'd approve!!
So my plan is to eat healthy and donate 1 pound for every lb in weight that I lose. I'm going to make my initial target a six month target as she passed away on 14th September so that's going to be my deadline.
Don't worry there's a fair few pounds to lose but obviously not 500!! So with your help maybe we can boost the total. I'd like to encourage anyone who has say 4 or 5 lbs to lose to get on board, lose those 4 or 5 lbs you've been wanting to lose for ages and then donate pound for pound towards my target. Even if you only want to lose 1 or 2 lbs it will all add up!
It's a win/win .. you'll feel better and Macmillan Cancer Support will receive some donations.
I'd also love to hear from you if you are getting involved and if you're doing it in memory of someone special.
And if you're one of those lucky people who are at their perfect weight then please just donate anyway!!
Please remember if you are going to lose weight, do it sensibly and if you're worried discuss it with your doctor too.
