I'm sure everyone loves the beautiful lights and Christmas tree that Our Villages Crawcrook & Greenside organise each December. We usually fund these from your generous donations to the Christmas Lights collection tins around the villages and money raised at Crawcrook Fair. Sadly, due to the pandemic, we had to cancel this year's Crawcrook Fair, meaning we haven't been able to raise the much needed funds to pay for the Christmas lights. Gateshead Council usually provide the Crawcrook Christmas tree, at a cost of around £600 and the bill for the lights, which includes dressing the tree, is over £2,300. As the tree outside Holy Spirit Church has now grown a bit, we can start lighting it up instead of paying for the council to provide one. But we still need to raise money to pay for the lights. The bill for dressing the Greenside tree is over £1,200. Please, please help us light up the villages for Christmas 2020. Every penny you donate will go towards the lights. I'm sure you can agree that our villages are the envy of many across the area. Let us end this horrendous year on a high by bringing some festive joy to our villages with another fantastic Christmas lights display.
