Thank you for visiting our Givey page for the Young Citizens of Rwanda and Rwanda Project Support Group. These projects are wonderful and make a huge difference to the quality of day to day life for so many in Rwanda. Jemorse, the founder of YCR moved to Rwanda from Nottingham to help an Orphange in Gitarama. While she was there, she saw a need for assiting young adults, orphaned by the Genocide, who have no life skills, education or support, who often end up as street children. She herself rented a house and took in 5 boys, raising funds to pay rent, schools fees, food and clothing and became their mum. Jules spends her time tirelessly working to support others in need in Rwanda. The Rwanda Project Support Group fundraises has sponsored many projects since 2006. They go to Rwanda most years to visit the projects they support or set up new projects and have liaisons on the group to check up on progress regularly, all at a cost to themselves. 100% of the fundraising effort goes towards those who need aid. 3x 40 foot containers of aid have been sent at a cost of £10,000, this aid has helped to set up a disability centre and provide resources to schools and clinics. Women who contracted HIV during the horrendous atrocities of the genocide have been able to have their crumbling houses renovated, get access to medication, and have the opportunity to have a better future with their children, thanks to the fundraising efforts of Jules and the team. In addition to all of this, the team sponsor 6 students through school, pay the rent of 2 women who are dying and unable to work and have dependants, they perform random acts of kindness, including paying for operations for a 6 year old girl who had been hit by a car and left on the street, they support a street boys centre. These really are deserving charities, with minimal staff and overheads, run by people who do this work for the love of it.
