Myself and Richard will attempt to do the National Three Peaks challenge in May. This involves climbing the 3 highest mountains in England, Wales and Scotland (Scafell Pike, Snowdonia & Ben Nevis respectively). We aim to do this within 24hr which if you haven't guessed is going to be quite the challenge. The total hiking distance to be covered is about 25 miles which of course isn't too bad, however we need to do this while climbing a total of around 3000 metres and driving over 450 miles from start to finish.
We are raising money for The East Anglian Air Ambulance - here is why:
My 4 month old Nephew Sam was less than a week old when he stopped breathing. Paramedics arrived but immediately called for an air ambulance. They arrived within minutes and airlifted him to Addenbrookes Hospital where he was held for nearly 3 weeks on intensive care. Without the speed and professionalism that they showed things could have been very different and don't really bare thinking about! East Anglian Air Ambulance receive no funding and so rely solely on donations to keep running.
We want to do this to help raise money so that they can continue to operate and help to save lives! It is a service anyone of us could need on any given day.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our page and any donation however large or small will help and is greatly appreciated.
