This summer I'm going to be climbing Ben Nevis to fundraise for the West Yorkshire Hardship Project (WYHP)! This is a charity which aims to support people experiencing hardship and homelessness as well as connecting them with the care they need to move forward. So far they've helped over 1000 people and raised £19,000! As a medical student from Peninsula Medical School, I have had some insight into some of the many struggles faced by those who are homeless or going through financial hardship. Although not solving all the issues, essentials such as food, drinks, clothing and toiletries and signposting to various services can go a long way in supporting those going through a difficult time.
