Move the Masses is a small charity with a big impact.
Our primary focus is on improving physical and mental wellbeing through movement.
We do this by pairing Volunteer Move Mates with vulnerable people in communities to meet for a weekly walk and a chat.
There are many barriers to simply getting out the house and into the fresh air. These include physical worries, fear of falling, depression, anxiety, sensory impairments and more.
We promote the benefits of movement, getting out for a walk and enjoying company along the way.
People can be referred to us by a third party organisation or they can self refer. Our service is not time restricted so people can walk with us for as long as they need.
For those we work with, their weekly walks are a lifeline, improving mobility and reducing isolation.
Our volunteers are integral to our work, and we are proud that their positive contributions have been recognised with the recent King's Award for Voluntary Service.
