Marsha Williamson is raising £1,000 for Harrison's Fund
About
On 26 April, I'm taking on the London Marathon for Harrison's Fund and the Duchenne community. 26.2 miles. 42.194988 kilometres. Or alternatively, that's 377,289 Big Macs lined up, 63,847 baguettes or 276,672 pint glasses! Quite the feat for my little (bow) legs. This was my fourth year of applying for a ballot place so that I could run for my chosen charity, Harrison's Fund. As many of you may already know, Harrison's Fund is a wonderful, home grown charity fighting every day to fund a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Beautiful, young Harrison, along with many other boys, has Duchenne. Although completely fatal and affecting approx. 2,500 young boys in the UK, there is little publicity for this dreadful disease. There is no cure. The boys will likely die before reaching their twenties. Their childhoods will be blighted with hospital visits, tests and wires, wasting muscles, breathlessness, wheelchairs, countless trips and falls...Before dying of heart or respiratory failure. Harrison's Fund, the Duchenne Alliance and many others are fighting for a cure. Scientists believe it may not be that far away. The lives of these young boys could be saved and at the very least improved. You can help. Please consider donating to my page, visiting the website, supporting the Saatchi bill or even just cheering the Harrison's Fund runners on the day. I would be truly grateful for any support you can give. It will certainly make the creaking legs worth it the next day. Marsha
