I'm running my first marathon!! I've stalled long enough, started with 5km, moved on to 10km, 10 miles and a few half marathons. It is time for the big one ... I started running for Otto 5 years ago, and he's kept me running. After he was diagnosed someone told me going through cancer is like running a marathon ... you have to pace yourself and take it one step at a time. Otto went through his 'marathon', battling brain cancer, now I will do mine. Christopher's Smile is close to my heart because Otto and Christopher met in hospital and both boys died of the same cancer. Christopher's parents, Kevin and Karen, set up the charity to raise funds for desperately needed new treatments for medullablastoma, to replace the 60-year-old drugs that are still used today. Government funding only comes to 0.7% of the total annual spend on cancer and it's not enough! Your donations, big or small, are of great importance in the battle against this cancer.
