I'm doing this abseil on behalf of the IlluminateStroud team. When I moved to Stroud in 2018 I started turning up to Illuminate's Engine Room as a very shy and scared person. Barrie and Anne took me on, made me feel so welcome, and slowly guided me to grow in myself. Fast forward 4 years and I love going every Sunday and spending the time messing around and exploring my faith in God. I've even got to help out with leading sessions where I can, which I couldn't have dreamed of doing back then. I am so thankful for how my commitments with Illuminate have grown my confidence over these past years and shaped me into the much more outgoing person I am today, it all made my move just that bit easier to overcome. I'm grateful to have been given this opportunity to give back for everything they've done for me.
