Hi and thanks for visiting my fundraising page! I started volunteering at Whitehawk Foodbank after attending an Alpha course at St Cuthmans Church, where it is based, and feeling like I wanted to do something more with my life. It is so sad that the foodbank has to exist. But it is full of wonderful people - the helpers and those coming in need - and such a warm and welcoming environment filled with respect, dignity, and hope. I have been an on/off regular runner for a few years now, and enjoy the running, although not this distance! I do the parkrun in East Brighton Park fairly regularly as part of my training so come say hi if you are nearby 😊 It is my privilege to be able to support the foodbank in this way. UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2020 Dear all. Many thanks to everyone who has supported me so far, through donations or encouragement, or both, you are wonderful people. The marathon is now on! Albeit in a new capacity. The upshot is I'll be running the race more or less 'solo'. The main event has been cancelled now due to covid-19, although the Brighton Marathon team are still staging a mass participation 10k race, which I would have the option of taking part on and including the distance in my marathon race. I've decided the stop-start would be no good for my legs on the day, and it just wouldn't be right to break up the distance over two or more different days, so I'm going solo! I'm looking forward to it, and have kickstarted my training into top gear in earnest (although a little belatedly if I'm honest...)
