Join us as we embark on an ancient pilgrimage across the north of Spain, from the foothills of the Pyrenees to the end of the earth (a.k.a. Finisterre)! For this journey of some 872km, I’ve scheduled 38 days of walking and plan to arrive in Santiago de Compostela to celebrate the feast day of their patron, St James, on July 25th! The road is calling. As indeed it has been ever since I first learnt of the Camino as an adolescent. Like most modern-day pilgrims, my first encounter with this spiritual journey was through reading Paolo Coelho’s best seller, The Pilgrimage, and I have been fascinated, yearning to experience the profound simplicity of this particular journey, ever since. LAFF (Latin American Foundation for the Future) is a wonderful organisation with these goals at the core of all its social outreach projects. I have had the privilege of becoming involved with this UK registered charity which supports young people in the Sacred Valley in Cusco, Peru, and I cannot wait to work personally on these projects in the next few years! Universal childhood literacy and secondary education for girls are imperative for the future of our planet. Equiping young people with the capacity for creativity, innovation and empathy is essential for empowering all members of our global community to not only survive, but to thrive!
