Wherever we go people make comments about how beautiful Laura’s hair is. It’s true. Long, thick and naturally wavy it’s frequently being nonchalantly tossed over her 9yr old shoulders as she’s trampolining or running around the garden and invariably looks gorgeous. After several jokes of flopping it over our follicularly challenged friend’s head it dawned on us, if Laura’s got such lovely hair, perhaps someone else could wear it. After some research we decided on the Little Princess Trust to be the recipient of Laura's hair. The Little Princess Trust provides free, real-hair wigs for young cancer sufferers or for children and young people experiencing the devastating effects of hair loss. They also fund pioneering, life-saving research into childhood cancers. They use hair donations and fundraising monies to manufacture and fit beautiful real hair wigs. Established in 2006, they have supplied over 8000 wigs to children and young people and have invested circa £5 million into ground-breaking childhood cancer research. From receiving hair donations at their office, through to fitting and styling a bespoke wig, it costs the charity from £550 to provide a real-hair wig free-of-charge, to wig recipients. The charity currently supply over 100 wigs every month. The Little Princess Trust needs financial donations as well as hair donations, in order to fund the actual manufacturing of the wigs and wig-fitting service.
