So, 7 years after my first marathon I thought I'd do it again. This year I decided to run it for one of the smaller charities of which there are many. The charity I have chosen is Crohn's and Colitis UK. I'd never heard of either of these conditions until I met my wife, Katie who suffers from Crohn's disease. Both are forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease and are chronic diseases which means there are no cures. They can do horrible things to the digestive system and sufferers suffer to varying levels, some to life changing extents. You can find out more about the charity and the work they do to raise money for treating these awful conditions by having a look at their website, http://www.crohnsandcolitis.org.uk/Home.
As I said there are no cures for these conditions as yet so all the different kinds of treatment out there just treat the symptoms and make life more comfortable for sufferers but hopefully one day there will be a cure. Please help this great charity by sponsoring me whatever you can spare to once again absolutely break my body running 26.2 miles on 26th April.
