Historia

Kerala Crafts, a BAFTS registered project, was set up in 2001 to provide an alternative to a life of poverty by supporting the Vimala Welfare Centre and an orphanage for girls. Valsalya Bhavan is a home for girls rescued from dangerous situations on the streets, such as child labour, begging, sexual abuse etc. At present they are living in a temporary building, but funds are being raised to provide a purpose-built orphanage. Construction has started and hopes to be complete by Christmas 2012.
