The making of grants to any individual residing within Reading Borough for any purpose within the scope of the following:

1. the advancement of education; 2. the advancement of health or the saving of lives; 3. the advancement of arts, culture, heritage or science; 4. the advancement of amateur sport; 5. the relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage; or 6. any other purpose currently recognised as charitable and any new charitable purposes which are similar to another charitable purpose.
