Story
Good morning all
On Sunday I am hitting the streets of London for the London Marathon (42.2km) and adding an extra 8km to make it a nice round 50km.
This year there will be no fanfare, no crowds, no party atmosphere… Runners will take part on a solo self-selected route and will be timed via a special app.
I am starting in Alexandra Palace and heading for Richmond via all the Royal Parks, canals, rivers and walkways London has to offer.
I have chosen to support a great little cause, Wheely Tots! https://wheelytots.com/
I have committed to help the charity fund new equipment including the purchase of 20 balance bikes to train little kids how to cycle.
The Bikes will be used by families participating in sessions who would otherwise be unable to afford one.
Please take a look at this 45 second video to give you more of an idea:

Wheely Tots believes all children, families and communities should be healthy, confident and resilient.
The charity combats social isolation directly by helping people feel more connected with each other and their local area via inclusive cycling and walking activities.
There is also a social impact to what the charity is doing and this can be found here:

I am also looking to financially support their foodbank initiative. It is staggering how many families with small kids are in need to essential food items on a daily basis.
•86% of participants have met new people and expanded their social group and now feel more connected to their local area
•68% of participants have spent more time with people from a different background and met people they can go to if they need help.
100% of the funds raised will go directly to the cause. I will personally cover any admin costs.
You really can make a difference with even a small donation. You might have been pestered by me in the past for similar initiatives and therefore apologise for tapping you up again.
My aim is to raise £5k+ and personally oversee how each penny is used. I commit to sending all donors an impact statement over the coming weeks and months demonstrating the positive impact we have made on this small and local charity.
Donating is easy…

Thank you for your time and here’s hoping the weather forecast improves. I don’t fancy 50km in the forecasted rain….
All best wishes
Jer
