I am starting 2019 by taking on an exciting challenge to run the Hackney Half Marathon for the rather wonderful and courageous charity, the Listening Place. This wonderful charity aims to reduce suicide and mental suffering in the UK, by providing free listening support, delivered by trained volunteers. It provides a place for people who feel life is no longer worth living to come and talk to volunteers, not professionals but someone who is warm, trained and non-judgemental. I am a listening volunteer at the Listening Place and can only say wonderful things about this amazing charity and it will be a real honour to have the opportunity to help raise money for them.
