The Circle Collective is a local charity that helps people aged 16-30 into permanent, life-changing work. These young people face barriers into employment, such as limited or no qualifications, disabilities, history of offending and no work-place experience. The trainees attend Circle’s ‘Back Your Future’ employability programme, where they attend employability skills training workshops, 1:1 mentoring sessions and have access to networking opportunities with employer. After spending numerous years working with children and young adults from all backgrounds and disabilities in a sporting context I understand the crucial impact that programs like this have on their confidence, concentration and social skills. This allows them to be the best that they can be through gaining employment.
Since 2012, Circle Collective has helped over 350 young people into permanent jobs, with 75% of the young people who complete Circle’s programme gaining permanent employment.
