Historia

Goldsmiths Community is at the heart of one of London’s most deprived communities; Downham in the London Borough of Lewisham. The centre supports a wide range of community groups – we estimate 1000-1500 individuals benefit p/a. Earlier this year the discovery of asbestos in the building resulted in full closure of the centre. We have a full condition survey and are now ready to move into the next phase; trying to ensure that Goldsmiths Community Centre can be fully reopened safely for our community. We plan for a partial reopening this autumn but cannot achieve full reopening without significant financial investment to refurbish the building.
