- 1 unfit Triathlon TOTAL novice - 750m swim in The Serpentine - 22.5km bike ride around Hyde Park - 5km run - 1st June 2014 When I left my job in London, looking for a more fulfilling existence, I came across the Vana Trust Organic Farm in Ludgershall. This fantastic and very small charity is an Organic Farm offering vulnerable children and adults opportunities to gain confidence and skills through farming. The farm comprises fruit and vegetable areas, goats, pigs, chickens, sheep (hopefully some lambs soon), rabbits and ducks... and hopefully some guinea pigs and donkeys in the future. I volunteer on the farm as a support worker once a week and never fail to leave the farm with a smile on my face. We have a fantastic group of volunteers, an amazing and dedicated Farm Manager in Sharon, and lots of exciting ideas and projects in the pipeline but none of these can happen if we don't raise any money to get them off of the ground. www.vanatrust.org.uk So... for some crazy reason, to do my bit, I have decided to take on the legacy of the heros of 2012 (it's the Olympic route) and have entered the World Triathalon in Hyde Park on the 1st June. www.worldtrilondon.com Needless to say, I have never done anything like this before, other than Race for Life; so this will be a huge personal challenge for me! I am also bricking it... and I still need to learn to swim front crawl so I don't drown in the Serpentine!
