On Friday 29th August until Saturday 30th August the youth and leaders of Ignite Malvern are undergoing the Slum Survivor challenge in aid of Soul Action.
The aim of this challenge is to "spend a day the way a billion spend a life time".
So we will be building our own slum out of wooden pallets, tarpaulin and cardboard boxes in which we will spend the night regardless of weather. We will then be undergoing challenges such as walking 2-3 miles to collect water for drinking and cooking our two daily rations of rice and beans.
Our aim is to try and experience and raise awareness of what it is like to live in a slum. So if you would like to support us and the work of Soul Action (who help those living in slums), then please donate.
