We are raising funds to continue to run the foodbank in Broadwater Farm Estate in 2024 and beyond. The cost of living crisis means that people still need the support the foodbank provides. We are supporting local people who are not able to travel to access support in other parts of Haringey. There are currently few opportunities for the whole community to come together in Broadwater Farm.

Wheely Tots set up a foodbank in Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham, Haringey in April 2020 with the aim of supporting the community during the Covid lockdown.

Since then, the project has grown to include a community kitchen. It has become a place where residents connect and support each other, helping hundreds of families and households along the way. The foodbank now supports 60 households each week and employs a local part-time Project Manager and Co-ordinator working with a team of local volunteers. The community kitchen employs local cooks to prepare healthy, hot meals each Friday and regularly feeds over 100 people.

To date, we have distributed over £60,000 worth of food donations and supplement this by purchasing additional food and personal hygiene items based on requests from the community.

It costs £4,500 per month to keep the foodbank and community kitchen running.

Funds donated will support the running costs of the foodbank and community kitchen. Naturally there are costs involved in the process of managing and sorting the food deliveries as well as communicating with those coming to collect their food and managing the community kitchen. Unrestricted funds help us to be able to deliver this service to those in need in our local community.
