Story

To acquire, rebuild and preserve, for the benefit of the inhabitants of Cumbria and of the nation at large, the trackbed, buildings, structures, and associated land of the former Eden Valley Railway between Kirkby Stephen and Penrith in the County of Cumbria, and of the former South Durham & Lancashire Union Railway between Barnard Castle in the County of Durham and Tebay in the County of Cumbria, and the former railway between Barnard Castle and Darlington in the County of Durham.
