The Baker family are going to run 28km to raise funds for Exeter Gymnastics Club. As you may know the boys squad at Exeter gym are fundraising to travel the America to compete in the Presidential Classic in Florida. This is a trip of a lifetime for a group of 8 gymnasts who are completely dedicated to their sport. They train 5-6 days per week between 18 and 20+ hours each week throughout the year. They work extremely hard and compete for Exeter, Devon and South West at regional and national competitions. This for the 7 younger gymnasts is their first competition abroad and for some will be their first time on a plane.
To help fundraise the Baker family are going to be running the Festival Run on 12th October. We will run as a family with Kylie and Dave completing 12km each (2km with the children and 10km in a separate run) and Daniel (6) and Harriet (3) completing 2km each. It is the children's first run and their first proper sponsored event but, they are keen to help raise money for "the gym club mummy coaches at" even though they will not be going on the trip.
Many thanks to everyone for their support it is very much appreciated by all the gymnasts and the Baker family.
