East Cornwall Search and Rescue Team is a local charity based in Bodmin, Cornwall and is made up entirely of volunteers who provide an inland search and rescue service across the East Cornwall area for lost, missing and injured people, 24/7 - above and below ground.
Covering rural areas from Goss Moor to Bodmin Moor, it also responds to incidents in more urban and semi rural areas from St Austell to Bude, and we operate in other areas across the South West and further afield to provide assistance to other teams as required. We respond to around 40 incidents every year, which can range from vulnerable missing person searches, and assisting the ambulance service with injured walkers, through to urban flooding response and severe weather assistance during heavy snowfall.
ECSRT is a member of Mountain Rescue England and Wales and the British Cave Rescue Council. It is 100% voluntary, with no paid staff at all, so every penny we raise goes directly in to our front line emergency service for the residents and visitors of Cornwall at a time when they need us the most.
