Young carers_ lives are in some way restricted because they provide care, supervision or assistance for someone they live with. Most children help their parents to some degree; however, young carers often take on caring responsibilities that have a negative impact on their own wellbeing. We try to ensure that young carers enjoy the same life chances as all other children in the borough of Gateshead & that they are given the opportunities to realise their full potential, like their peers.
