From the data published so far, it looks as if the COVID-19 virus could be affecting the heart muscle. We are setting up a research project to look at this, so we can learn more about how we can adequately treat and support people with the virus. As a heart research charity, we have the skills and expertise to carry this out. HOWEVER, because of the virus our normal income streams have significantly dried up! We feel this research is so important it has to go ahead, so please support us and spread the word about this project. We can surely help the people who need it most. We are based at Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow (Middlesex), where the team are working really hard to look after patients with COVID-19 and this research will add to the current knowledge about this illness, and may help with the treatment of those affected. As a local charity, all funds donated will go directly into this project.
