The Conservation Collective is a network of local philanthropic funds focussed on protecting, preserving and restoring the natural environment.
In the last ten years the Conservation Collective has helped to establish nine local, placed-based, environment funds in Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca (Spain), Aeolian Islands (Italy), Cyclades Islands, Ionian Islands (Greece), St Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados (West Indies), and Sri Lanka. These funds are all linked under the umbrella of the Conservation Collective – Chaired by Ben Goldsmith, managed day to day by Jade Brudenell. The funds raise money from people and businesses who care passionately about a particular place and gives grants to local initiatives, campaigns and organisations working tirelessly to protect, to sustain and restore their natural environment. Our areas of focus vary from place to place but as a general rule include landscape protection and local food, marine conservation, and the efficient use of resources (water, waste, energy). Responsible tourism is an underlying theme, as many of the areas where we work have been affected by the rapid onslaught of unsustainable tourism and development.
