What Do We Do?

Comfort C.A.F.E. runs a community kitchen that is staffed entirely by volunteers. We hold drop-in sessions where we serve a hot meal and drinks to local adults who are homeless or struggling to cope - frequently over 90 of them come through our doors!

We treat everyone with dignity, respect, kindness, sincerity, integrity, understanding and in an empathetic manner irrespective of their faith, gender, colour, or race. One of our aims is to reduce social exclusion by making everyone feel welcome.

When funds allow, we provide takeaway food to cover the next day when no soup kitchens are open – our 'Food for Tomorrow' project. When needed we endeavour to provide new underclothes, toiletries and thermal clothing and always make time to listen to problems and refer people to other agencies who can help if possible.

A Wellbeing Counsellor from the charity ASHAR (Bringing Hope) attends each week and is available for anyone attending the sessions. We also have visits from other agencies such as the NHS and the Hepatitis C Trust to vaccinate and test people.

Where are we?

Each Tuesday at St. Thomas's Church Parish Centre on Caunce Street in Blackpool
