The South Stanley Partnership is a charity based in Stanley, Co. Durham We provide services to help elderly and vulnerable people in the community, all year round. We deliver a hot, home-cooked meal 6 days out of 7, giving the more isolated members of the community a point of contact and someone to make sure they are okay. We offer free meals to schoolchildren during the school holidays; we would like to be able to extend this during the school shut-down. We also offer a community fridge, which allows people to pick up necessary food and cuts down on waste going to landfill. We deal with everyday issues around hidden hunger. With recent developments following the outbreak of Covid 19, we are facing pressure on our service and urgently need extra funding to continue and to extend our service further, as we have been collecting and delivering prescriptions, shopping and other vital items for people who cannot leave their homes.
