Story

The Wiltshire town of Calne opened its Heritage Centre during 2004 in a Carnegie building that was formerly the town library. It is run entirely by volunteers, relying for finance on subscriptions, donations and the sale of items of local interest. Our aim is to make the people of the Calne Community Area aware of their rich heritage and become engaged with it. We do this by recording, storing and exhibiting archive material relevant to the local area, both past and present.
