Butterflies and moths are a beautiful and crucial part of our natural heritage but many are suffering devastating declines. There are 58 species of butterfly in the UK and over 2,500 types of moth, but their survival is threatened. 75% of butterfly species are in decline. Four of our butterflies and over 60 moths became extinct last century. Butterfly Conservation is the only UK charity taking action to stop these declines and ensure these beautiful insects are around for future generations to enjoy.
