This is the Bury C of E Primary School charity page to raise funds for Kasoroza Primary School in Uganda. We are donating funds directly to this school through the charity: Friends of North Kigezi Diocese (FNKD), which a U K Registered Charity (no. 1114602 - details can be seen on the Charity Commision website). We have had a link and supported Kasoroza for several years and have helped them greatly in various ways. Kasoroza village, where the school is located is in an area of great deprivation where most of the students are orphans and double orphans and cannot even afford the school fee and many come to school without lunch or the required uniform. During FNKDs visits to Uganda, Kasoroza is always on their programme- they are greeted by waving and smiling children and their dedicated and hardworking headmistress, Catherine Arinaitwe and her staff. Since Bury C of E Primary School has linked with them, we have provided the school and students with many wonderful benefits - including school uniforms for the entire school, sports equipment, colouring pencils and stationary, letters to children, cards, hand made crafts and a beautiful book made by your children. Monies raised by our fundraising has provided much needed food for the children in nursery class, repaired and restored the water tank and fixed the guttering to preserve and catch much needed water (rain water is captured from the roof tops of the school buildings and is their only supply of water). Our support over the years has given the staff and students great hope for better times and is greeted with much happiness and prayers.
